I often put it this way; If you were to ask a hockey player to pick between earning a ton of money in his career but never win the Stanley Cup or Win the Stanley Cup and earn half, to a man they would chose the cup. Probably more women than men play it but in Europe (Netherlands, Germany, Spain, UK) it’s quite popular with a pretty even split I’d guess, maybe slightly more women.
